Review
Modern warfare 2 has been out for a little over a week now.  After all
the hype has left a game is when I find it is easiest to come to a fair
conclusion as to how good the game really is.  Needless to say for once the
hype was just about right.  One thing is for sure, This game
is impressive.

Single Player
The single player story takes place about 5 years after the original modern
warfare.  I have to say this is by far the weakest story yet
seen in a call of duty game.  The story is short, Confusing, and full
of holes.  The only clues you get as to what's going on take place during
short loading screens and in game chatter surrounded by
gunfire and explosions.  You will often times find yourself in a
mission having no idea why you are there or why you did what you
did.

That being said, Infinity ward somehow manages to make the weak plot
almost not matter.  Each level is so intense and unique that you
simply want to experience it from start to finish.  The enemy AI is
great and the graphics/musical score are some of the best seen in
an FPS to date.

Though the campaign is fun it's definitely not without its flaws.   You will
sometimes find yourself blocked by your own squad mate leaving you to an
untimely demise and checkpoints that leave you in a repetitive, merciless
hail of gunfire and death over and over again.
Spawn die, spawn die is never fun.

The story is insanely short, around 6.5 hours on hardcore, and very
confusing.  There are also elements of the campaign that are very sensitive
and offensive in nature so be prepared.  Also, there is no coop mode at all
for the main campaign.

Spec Ops
Spec ops is 1 of the areas that Modern Warfare 2 Shines brightest.
Though, it is the only coop experience to be found in modern warfare 2 it is
a blast.

The mission types very between elimination type levels and objective based
levels.  Each mission type is highly polished and very balanced.

In elimination mode you will find yourself taking on a predetermined amount
of foes that come at you in waves.   They also included a new enemy type
called a juggernaut that can only be found in spec ops.  This brute is tough,
and can only be taken down with explosives or a well placed high caliber
sniper round.

The objective based missions are basically your standard call of duty
missions on steroids with a few twists added in for coop.  You might find
yourself sniping your way from point A to point B in one level, and the next
you might be running for your life as your friend defends you from the air in
the gunner seat of a chopper.  Needless to say, there are a wide variety of
mission types to tackle.

The level of balance found in these missions is unparalleled.  The best
example of this is most apparent in the AC130 mission where 1 player has to
eliminate enemy soldiers, via AC130 bomber, to clear a path for
player 2 so they can reach their goal in time.  If you don't work with your
partner, in a planned timely manner, you will not succeed.  It's that simple.

A large variety of missions combined with perfect balance and game play
make this a mode you will definitely be playing over and over again for
months to come.  However more customization would have been appreciated
and the fact that games are invite only is a little disappointing.

Multiplayer
Though the multiplayer might appear to be Modern Warfare 1 with a paint
job at first glance, It has been improved upon in every way imaginable.  The
sheer amount of customization and the intensity/balance of gameplay is
amazing.  Throw in a large amount of unlockable content and you find
yourself with the best multiplayer experience to date.

The amount customization in this game is impressive.  Everything can be
modified to suit your play style.  Kill streaks, death streaks, weapons, perks,
emblems, and even call signs can all be modified based on your rank.  It is
highly unlikely that you will come across another player using the same load
out as you.
